Bayeux Tapestry
The Bayeux Tapestry is an extremely long embroidered cloth that tells all the events until the end of the 1066 Norman invasion. The tapestry is entirely in Latin and created by William the Conqueror's wife, Queen Matilda and her ladies-in-waiting, but it could possibly been ordered by William's half brother, Bishop Odo to be created, as historians had carefully analyzed.
The story of the tapestry begins with Edward the Confessor meeting Harold Godwinson and into the crowning of the king and eventually into Battle of Hastings. The tapestry also tells the story of William and Harold and what had happened between them. It eventually ends with victory of William at Battle of Hastings but it seems likely that it did not end here and the remaining sections had been lost.
Below is a documentary of the tapestry.
